San Diego at Work: Watson Yim, Aira

Mar 18, 2019 - Bernadine Locsin

Recently touted at the SXSW conference, local tech startup Aira is changing the game for visually impaired communities around the world. Through its unique technology and network of trained agents, Aira is helping people with blindness or low vision enhance everyday tasks – like ordering a ride to the airport or selecting which lunch items to order off an inaccessible menu.

Watch this video as Co-Founder Watson Yim shares a touching story on why they founded Aira and sheds light on why San Diego was the perfect place to start their company. You’ll notice that there’s also a voice over included, so our readers with low vision can enjoy it too.
