#TakeoverTuesday with Eckis Marketing

Jan 22, 2020 - Heather Dewis

It's just another Tuesday morning in January, and in the East Village in downtown San Diego, the all-women team at Eckis Marketing starts their day. For this digital marketing agency focusing on elevating brands in the digital space, it looks a little something like this:

  1. Ask Alexa to play music.
  2. Make Nespresso.
  3. Enjoy fresh air on the balcony.

CEO and founder Whitney Eckis says, "I chose to create this agency in San Diego because I am a local and because I love everything San Diego-based. I love the community, I love the weather, I love the huge lifestyle and wellness push here."

At Eckis, Client Relations Manager Bianca Smith oversees all of client accounts, from social media to influencer marketing. "My favorite aspect of this job is being able to help local San Diego brands have an amazing social media presence," she says. In addition to helping local brands, the Eckis team loves giving back to the community through events that support the ALPHA Project and the YMCA Women's Shelter.

Giving back might be the best perk of all, but employees also find time to enjoy the little moments in a regular workday. The Eckis office overlooks Petco Park, and employees take advantage of the proximity to eat lunch while watching the San Diego Padres practice. Plus San Diego means easy access to de-stressing activities. Eckis Intern Imogen is originally from South Africa, and loves working in San Diego because "I feel like we really value work-life balance here, which is important to me. It's such a beautiful city and it's nice to have the afternoon to surf or go to the beach."
