Born and raised in sunny San Diego, Knockaround is the original affordable sunglasses company with quality shades that won’t break the bank. Like its loyal fan base, the Knockaround team (aka the Knocksquad) is an active bunch that loves taking advantage of San Diego’s outdoor playground. On a sunny and 75 degree afternoon (pretty standard in San Diego), you can find most of the team outside doing a lot of, you know, “product testing.”
Liam from Knockaround says, “Working here is the perfect mixture of hanging out with your friends and getting some pretty awesome objectives accomplished. It can be busy but still have a casual vibe because we know that everyone has everyone else’s back. We feed off each other’s ambition. When you like the people you work with so much, you don’t want to let them down, you know? Plus, everyone here knows how to have a good time and keep a positive attitude.” If it sounds like this team has found a way to capture San Diego’s spirit and the phrase “work hard, play hard” all into one (really cool) office space, it’s because they have.
Founded in 2005 by UC San Diego alum Adam “Ace” Moyer, Knockaround truly embodies SD vibes, which have become the lifeblood of its brand and growing community. When they’re not outside running, surfing, camping, and even spelunking, the team is hard at work to design and create the coolest sunglasses to meet all of your functional and fashion needs. They’ve worked with local icons, like the San Diego Padres and Green Flash Beer, as well as San Diego County elementary schools to fund their art programs. Pretty #SDlifechanging, if you ask us.
