#TakeoverTuesday with Intuit

Jun 21, 2019 - Bernadine Locsin

You might know Intuit as the creator of essential finance platforms like TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Mint. But this local tech giant is solving much more than your standard “adulting” problems. As strong advocates of diversity and inclusion, the forward-thinking team at Intuit developed an internal initiative called Tech Women @ Intuit (TWI) dedicated to making it the #1 career choice for female technologists.

Kimbra Brookstein, senior program manager for TWI, loves the fact that she gets to promote and develop women in technology, while living in a place she feels lucky to call home. She says, “When you travel outside of San Diego, you realize how good you have it. Intuit has an amazing company culture and incredible work life balance. When you work for a company that enables you to enjoy all that San Diego offers, I can’t see myself ever leaving!”

Besides an amazing cafeteria, gym, and even beach volleyball court right on campus, Intuit employees also get to enjoy working for a company that offers robust career development opportunities, like mentorship and tech summits, while also offering a “returnship” program called Intuit Again that provides an opportunity for technologists to return to work after taking a break in their careers for caregiving purposes. To give our followers a real look at what it’s like to work at Intuit, Kimbra took us behind the scenes on #TakeoverTuesday.
