Inc. Magazine recently published its annual guide to the 5,000 fastest-growing privately held companies in the U.S., otherwise famously known as the Inc. 5000 list. It came to no one’s surprise (at least not ours) that San Diego garnered a solid handful of companies among this year’s ranks…more than 100 in our region.
As an extra-special bonus to complement this year’s notable rankings, Inc. Magazine also created a list of the top 10 hottest startup cities in America. San Diego came in at no. 4, giving us more proof that San Diego is a great place to live, work, and grow your own business (and have a really good time doing it). Check out what Inc. had to say:
As much as we’d love to highlight all 110 San Diego companies on the 2019 Inc. 5000, here are just a few from various industries in our region that made this year’s list:
A B2B marketplace that connects major pharmaceutical companies and the National Institutes of Health with research scientists. This company has made the Inc. 5000 for 3 consecutive years.
A cosmetics company, whose products are sold across the world. Its lineup is inspired by candies and sweet treats.
A provider for non-pharmacological treatments for patients suffering from chronic medical conditions. Its products include positional therapy devices.
A software technology company, providing options for non-emergency medical transportation for patients in need of assistance getting to treatment facilities.
A biotech company that develops fetal and DNA technology, allowing families access to insight into the health and development of future children.
A nutrition bars and other functional foods manufacturer. Perfect Bar's signature product is its refrigerated nutrition bar, which was the first of its kind in 2005.
A manufacturing company that sells green building products like bamboo floors, fences, and composite decking to homeowners and designers. This company is an 11-Time Inc. 5000 Honoree.
A general contractor serving commercial property owners. Its past builds include the NBC San Diego broadcast studio, The Lot in La Jolla & Liberty Station, and luxury car dealerships.
A software company that develops an online platform for social media marketing and reputation management, used by multi-location businesses. The company reported 1,097% growth over three years.
A commercial and hospitality furniture dealership that specializes in creative solutions to help companies define their culture through their physical spaces.
Companies on the 2019 Inc. 5000 were ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a three year period -- from 2015 to 2018. For 2019, the San Diego region made up 2.2% of total privately held companies on the list. Click here to view the complete 2019 Inc. 5000 List.
