7 Cool Office Spaces in San Diego

Sep 03, 2017 - Devyn Helsing

San Diego has the #1 booming entrepreneurship community in the country, according to Entrepreneur – and we couldn’t agree more. San Diego is proud of its local entrepreneurs: the thinkers and doers that give the region its unique character and identity. Naturally, many of these innovative and creative minds breed companies in equally innovative and creative offices.

From microbreweries to tech startups to real estate firms, San Diego’s vibrant workforce values open, unique and aesthetic office spaces to help fuel their drive and increase productivity. Game rooms, mini-bars and eye-catching art installations are just a few of the ways locals have been integrating modern twists into San Diego’s ever-growing office spaces. Here are a few of our favorite local office spaces throughout the region:

GOPRO

Founded by a UC San Diego alum, this innovative tech giant proves its commitment to the region with its awe-inspiring office in Carlsbad. GoPro’s products inspire creativity in others, and their office follows suit for its employees. Gyms, outdoor patios, a ‘board room’ made of surf boards and bike racks for their active workers are just a few of the things that make GoPro’s offices so unique. That ocean view doesn’t hurt either.

INTUIT

Creating finance software that makes all of our lives easier when it comes to taxes and money management, Intuit has moved beyond the traditional office space. They have created a campus of snack bars, games and even a fitness center in order to spark their employees’ creativity and improve quality of life.

BURGER CONSTRUCTION

Building some of the trendiest office spaces in San Diego for over 20 years, it’s only fitting that the Burger Construction office lives up to its own reputation. With ping pong, a zipline and beer on tap, Burger Construction has created a modern rustic feel with deep reds and wood detailing – a space that truly captures their company’s passion and attention to detail.

RED DOOR INTERACTIVE

Making the Forbes 2014 list of 10 Cool Office Spaces, this marketing agency’s workspace street cred has only improved with time. Its flagship location in downtown San Diego, adjacent to Petco Park, includes an open floor plan with many shared workspaces, fully stocked kitchen and house-themed conference rooms, such as The Workshop, Family Room and Side Yard (corn hole set included).

SWINERTON BUILDERS

Designed by San Diego’s ID Studios, Swinerton Builders combines modern with rustic to create a nuanced and innovative feel within their established, 125-year-old construction company.

ACHIEVE INTERNET

First off, this web development firm centers its workspaces around a putting green. Second, its walls are covered with murals of laptops, light sabers and other elements to promote the company’s modern, geeky vibe.
