In 2018, Solana Beach was recognized as an official bicycle-friendly community by the League of American Bicyclists. Near the end of the main street sits Claire’s on Cedros, a tasty brunch spot that serves delectable dishes like blackberry stuffed french toast and short rib hash until 3:00 PM. The breezy atmosphere is a perfect start to a laid-back kind of day. Other places to try are the ever-popular Pizza Port, a local pizza chain with several craft brews on tap, and Beach Grass Cafe for the lighter fare when you’re in the mood for a healthier bite.

Soaking up the great outdoors is the key to Solana Beach living. It’s one of the top spots for surfers (or those who like to watch from the shore), hikers, artists, and photographers. For music lovers, seeing a live show at the Belly Up Tavern will become your regular go-to choice. This intimate music venue has brought in indie acts including KT Tunstall, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and Ben Harper, to name a few. Tune into to all of your senses when out and about because there is so much to see, hear, taste, and feel. Soak it all up and enjoy!

It’s also a scenic ride by Coaster to downtown San Diego or up the coast via Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner if you want to visit Orange County or LA for a day trip or weekend getaway.
